Star Wars' Rian Johnson Accepts Website's Apology Over False Report of Him Leaving the Franchise

Fans had a mixed reaction when reports came flooding about Rian Johnson possibly leaving the Star Wars franchise. Those reactions were soon withdrawn as Johnson soon debunked those rumors and said he was still working on his new trilogy, making Last Jedi fans happy and ticking off Last Jedi haters. In an interesting move, the website that first brought up the report has since apologized and Johnson, being a stand-up guy, accepted it.

SuperBroMovies, the website that brought up said story, released a lengthy statement about the report and then apologized for what they did. The statement was quick to point out how people within the website actually liked The Last Jedi and didn't want Johnson to leave the franchise, hoping that they didn't do any harm to the Looper director.

Johnson accepted the apology like a champ and even said that rumors make any fandom more fun, which is true if we're being honest. Why do you think there are so many Star Wars rumors that get picked up by websites? Anyway, however you feel about Johnson and his movies, it's clear that he is a cool dude so maybe people won't be too mean to the guy.

Though he won't be involved in this year's Star Wars: Episode IX, which comes out on December 20, Johnson is making a new Star Wars trilogy. It will be interesting to see how his vision of Star Wars is like, especially with his promises of no more Skywalkers.
