Star Wars: Kelly Marie Tran Deletes All Instagram Posts After Months of Online Harassment

Kelly Marie Tran's portrayal of Rose Tico received a mixed reaction from fans, though the same thing could be said about Star Wars: The Last Jedi in general. Tran did perform well as Rose, even when she had to say the worst line in Star Wars history before kissing John Boyega's Finn.

However you feel about Tran's performance, she doesn't deserve to be harassed. Unfortunately, the actress has been a victim of online harassment ever since the film came out, even though she has just as many fans. Sadly, it has seemingly taken a toll on her, as Tran has deleted all of her Instagram posts.

Due to the divisiveness of The Last Jedi, some "fans" have seemingly taken it upon themselves to make the actress feel uncomfortable. Star Wars fan page Wookipedia was once edited to include a number of offensive remarks regarding the actress, while others have called her the second coming of Jar Jar Binks.

While all of her posts are gone, she remains active on the platform with "afraid, but doing it anyway" remaining as her page description. Frankly, this behavior is unbecoming of a person, regardless of how you feel about The Last Jedi and the fact that she has such a brave status shows that she deserves to be in the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20, 2019.
