Star Wars: Jon Favreau Comments on a Possible Bobba Fett Appearance

Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian is coming out this November and fans can't wait to see how a live-action Star Wars series is going to be like, especially given its interesting setting. However, with fans still sad over their Bobba Fett movie not happening, many are hoping that he will make an appearance in this series.

During D23 (via CBR), Favreau was asked if Fett would be appearing in the series and the creator gave a straightforward "no." To quote him correctly, he said "Bobba Fett is not. They're all-new, original characters." You have to appreciate the fact that the Iron Man director is being honest and isn't giving anyone false hope, though he says there will be some easter eggs that will remind characters of him (yay?).

"Even the rifle with a forked end on it, the bayonet on the end, was from the holiday special with Boba Fett in it -- the original time you saw him. So we have lots of deep cuts in the show and I can't wait for people who love Star Wars to see it."

It's good to see Favreau stick with his guns and focus mostly on original characters since it would have been easy to give in to nostalgia. It seems like Bobba Fett is going to remain dead and that's not always a bad thing. Sorry folks, you always have those comic books and non-canon novels.

The Mandalorian will be premiering in Disney+ on November 12.
