Spider-Man 3 Originally Had More Comic Book-Accurate Symbiote Costumes

Spider-Man 3 is considered by many to be the worst film to ever feature the wall-crawler, yes even worse than Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man films because there were at least a number of parts that clearly had effort put into them. While fans have warmed up to the third movie, saying that it's actually easy to binge with the other two movies due to their similarity in tone, there are still things to criticize like the number of villains, Peter kissing Gwen, and MJ being overly jealous of Spider-Man being accepted by the public.

Another common complaint was the way they designed the symbiote suits of Spider-Man and Venom. While Venom looked alright by the end, the fact that Peter's black suit was basically a pitch-black version of his movie outfit disappointed a ton of people. However, these BTS photos show that the filmmakers were actually working with plenty of comic book-accurate suits used during practice shoots and animatronics.

While a more comic book accurate version of Symbiote Spider-Man wouldn't have fixed all of the movie's problems, it would have made things easier on the eyes for comic book fans. Plus, seeing the awesome Raimi outfit pitch-black is an eyesore and I doubt anyone genuinely likes that costume over the one in the comics.

Even the one in Venom was better, which makes sense since that had the hard task of introducing a version of the character while not using Spider-Man's origin. The fact that this movie is getting a sequel shows sometimes a cool-looking character can sell a movie to a lot of other people.

Spider-Man 3 is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital stores.
