Sony Says 'No Comment' When Asked About Spider-Man Appearing in Venom 2

Venom was an unexpected success for Sony, making a ton of money and quickly having the studio greenlight a Venom 2, though no proper release date has been given. Some reports have stated that Sony is meeting with Tom Holland so that he can make a cameo appearance as our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, though nothing was confirmed at the time. Apparently, Sony has responded to a reporter and said "no comment" in regards to Spider-Man appearing in the symbiote-filled sequel.

Curiouser and curiouser.

On Twitter, a reporter from Discussing Film claimed that he reached out to Sony about this big Venom 2 story and they apparently said "no comment." If true, this could essentially prove that Spider-Man will indeed be showing up in the Sony sequel, though most of us aren't expecting a super big appearance from the lovable character.

There was some drama earlier last year when it seemed like Spider-Man would stop showing up in MCU movies after Sony and Disney failed to secure a deal. Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed and we are now ensured one more solo Spider-Man MCU film that will deal with the fallout from Spider-Man: Far From Home, along with a crossover movie that could be the next Avengers.

Details on Venom 2 are slim-to-none, though we do know that Andy Serkis will direct the film and Carnage is going to be the main villain. No official release date has been given, though we can only hope a nearby one is announced sooner rather than later.
