Sony Might Sell Masters of the Universe Reboot to Netflix

We haven't heard much about Sony's Masters of the Universe reboot, which is supposed to introduce a cinematic universe featuring He-Man. While Sony has cast its Adam of Eternia in Noah Centineo, there hasn't been anything else revealed about the movie. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony is actually considering selling the Masters of the Universe reboot to popular streaming service Netflix.

Though the movie is still scheduled for a March 2021 release, Sony is considering selling it to Netflix so that they won't risk as much money if/when it bombs. However, this is also a huge risk since the movie has a chance to be a blockbuster hit and Sony would never know how much money they could have made if they do decide to sell it to Netflix.

If we're being honest, selling the Masters of the Universe reboot to Netflix wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. After all, the streaming service is already home to the current She-Ra and the Princesses of Power series, along with Kevin Smith's upcoming He-Man anime that is expected to come out in the near future. One would think that Netflix would want to be the He-Man streaming service and having the movie would be icing on the cake.

Honestly, if Sony doesn't think the franchise is going to do well, they might as well sell it to Netflix. They'll save money and be able to actually put effort into projects that will actually make them money, like their plans to make more Spider-Verse movie.

Masters of the Universe is scheduled for a March 2021 release. Whether it's a Sony or Netflix movie will be determined in time.
