Sonic the Hedgehog Producer Says Fans Will Be Pleased With Upcoming Redesign

It's been a while but fans can still remember how terrible the first trailer of Sonic the Hedgehog was. This is the Sega icon's big-screen debut and to have that abomination be Sonic wasn't what anyone wanted. Granted, fans were also worried when it was announced that the design would be changed since it might overwork the animators, but the film was delayed so that's not the worst thing ever.

We're still waiting for the eventual redesign to get revealed but Tim Miller, the film's producer and director of the first Deadpool movie, has promised fans that they will like the new design in an interview with Variety. Apparently, Miller sided with fans when the design was released, which is a bit hard to believe since he's the film's producer and would have had to see the model before release.

Then again, maybe he disapproved and the studio went with it anyway. The fact that he admitted to F--king up is a sign of humility as well.

"Look, I was with fans, and so was Jeff. When the sh-t hit the fan, I went over there and said, 'The most important thing to do, man, is say, I f-cked up.'"

Rumor has it that Tyson Hesse, who has done a lot of art for official Sonic video games, will help out with the new redesign. With him around, we can only hope for something on the level of all the Pokemon we saw on Detective Pikachu.

Sonic the Hedgehog comes out on February 14. Best. Valentine's. Day. Ever.
