Sandman Audio Drama Announced With All-Star Cast Led by James McAvoy and Narrator Neil Gaiman

It looks like we're gonna have to wait a while before we see any form of live-action Sandman media since COVID-19 is making things impossible for Hollywood right now. Thankfully, it looks like fans have a great alternative to look forward to since a Sandman Audio Drama with a huge all-star cast has been announced. As if that news wasn't exciting enough, Neil Gaiman himself will be the narrator of this drama, which should be awesome to hear.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that James McAvoy will lead the cast as protagonist Morpheus, while Thor star Kat Dennings is appropriately cast as Death. Taron Egerton also makes a shocking appearance as John Constantine, who has made appearances in Sandman before but is more associated with solo adventures, Swamp Thing, and Justice League Dark. Speaking of DC/Vertigo characters, Michael Sheen has also been confirmed as Lucifer.

Riz Ahmed will also appear in the drama as The Corinthian, while Samantha Morton has been confirmed as Urania Blackwell. Fan-favorite actor Andy Serkis will also be appearing as Matthew the Raven so it's nice to see the Venom 2 director take a break for this. Finally, Bebe Neuwirth will be The Siamese Cat because everyone loves cats.

Honestly, this is an amazing cast and we're pretty sad that it's not for a live-action Sandman series. Then again, with COVID-19 making things impossible for everyone right now, this is a pretty good alternative right now.

Fans will be able to listen to the Sandman audio drama on Audible on July 15. This will be the first of four parts and is going to adapt the first three graphic novels.
