Rogue One Writer Wants to Work on a Control Movie

Control was one of last year's surprise hits, not getting a lot of love pre-release and quickly becoming a game of the year contender after word of mouth was strong, while the reviews proved to be stronger. The story is complex, intriguing, and maybe a little convoluted but it's original enough to get the attention of anyone who has a gaming console or computer.

The complexities of Control mean that it's ripe for movie potential and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story co-writer Gary Whitta wants to pen that script. When asked by a fan on what video game he would want to turn into a movie, he quickly said Control from Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games. Soon after, Remedy's Head of Communication Thomas Puha asked if they could talk, which is getting a lot of people talking.

While Rogue One was far from a well-written movie, it will be interesting to see how Whitta does with a much more complex story. Then again, when you consider the history of video game films it might be better if they decide to adapt Control into a series instead. It worked for The Witcher and Castlevania so it might do wonders for Control.

If you're interested, Control is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
