Rockstar Games Lets Terminally Ill Fan Play Red Dead Redemption 2 Early

In news that is both heartwarming and depressing, Rockstar Games let a terminally ill fan play Red Dead Redemption 2 early. The game has been highly anticipated for eight years so it is good seeing the people at Rockstar do something nice for someone like this. Situations like this are always tragic and all we can do is be grateful for what we have and send our best wishes.

According to Gamersnet, Rockstar let a fan named Juan play the game early after finding out that he has been diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis type 2; a rare disease that causes tumors to form inside the body. Juan's father reached out to Rockstar's Netherland branch to make this happen and he got his wish, as Juan was able to play the game for a whole afternoon.

This isn't the first time a gaming company has let a dying fan play one of their most anticipated games. Not too long ago, Nintendo let a dying fan play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate before he passed away. It's a really good gesture from both companies to make their fans feel happy and it's a shame that diseases like this have to exist.

Even though it will come at a whopping 105 GB of installation data, fans are still pumped for Red Dead Redemption 2. The game looks great and has open-world gameplay that many of us have come to expect from Rockstar Games. This will probably be many people's game of the year when it comes out, so it's great that Juan got to experience it before passing away.

Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out on October 26 for PS4 and Xbox One. The game's online play will come in November.
