Rey Gets Ready for Battle in New Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Image

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is a few months away and, as usual, we still don't have a lot of information in regards to the story. We know that this will be the conclusion of the Skywalker saga and the current trilogy, with most of us interested in the fate of Rey and Kylo Ren. While there still isn't much information, LucasFilm did release a new image of Rey getting prepared for battle.

As fans can see below, Rey is looking off into the distance and has her lightsaber ready for some swinging. Rey is behind some clear blue skies, which is a nice change of pace when previous Star Wars movies have mostly shown her around temples, swamps, or the desert. LucasFilm is also doing their best to hide the location from us, hence the blue sky.

The image also has an interesting quote from Rey: "Something inside me has always been there. But now it's awake." This could be the hidden Skywalker lineage that many fans are speculating on, though others think that it could be her going to the Dark Side.

It's definitely interesting to see Rey aware of something inside her, though we'll see if it's the light or the dark side. While that might sound like the plot summary of a Kingdom Hearts game, Star Wars stories always sound like this. This is expected to be the end of an era and I hope it gives us a great hero in Rey.

Kylo Ren may or may not deserve redemption.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is coming out on December 20.
