Resident Evil 8: Village Listing Possibly Leaked by Retailer

Capcom has managed to please everyone with their most recent Resident Evil titles. Many praised Resident Evil VII: Biohazard for taking this series to a new direction while also going back to its horror roots, while the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 got a lot of love for having the awesome control scheme from Resident Evil 4 and updating the stories in smart, modern ways. However, fans are curious about the heavily-rumored Resident Evil 8 since fans are curious about Capcom's future as well.

If this report is true, it looks like they have dark plans for the next game. Apparently, a German retailer released a listing for Resident Evil 8: Village, which supposedly looks like Resident Evil VIllage, which is a smart way to incorporate its numbering. The listing claims that this will be the darkest and most cruel game in this franchise, which is saying a lot considering the history of Resident Evil.

Various reports have claimed that Ethan from Resident Evil VII will return as the protagonist, with Chris Redfield returning in a supporting role. Others have also said that this new game could have a brand-new female lead. There have even been some rumors claiming that there were werewolves involved, though that may have been scrapped. Either way, Resident Evil 8 is currently unpredictable.

Rumor has it that Resident Evil 8 will be shown off during the big PlayStation 5 reveal event, though Capcom hasn't officially confirmed anything yet. We'll just have to wait and see, though the possibilities are fairly appetizing.
