Pokemon Sword and Shield Wild Areas Will Have Overpowered Pokemon That Can Easily Wipe Out Players

Pokemon Sword and Shield are coming out next month so it's hard not to be excited, even if you're critical about these games' flaws. Yes, they could look better and should have kept the National Pokedex but there's no doubt that the new features look interesting, especially the previously announced Wild Areas. This is where most of our Pokemon catching is going to take place and the fact that we'll be able to see the monsters roaming around is a treat we've always wanted.

It turns out that the Sword and Shield Wild Areas will also be home to a lot of overpowered Pokemon, a number of which can be encountered early on in the game. Knowing that these powerful Pokemon will be around should have players on their toes, though a number of fans will probably test their luck and see how they do against these monsters.

Thanks to a hands-on impression from Eurogamer, we now know that players will have to tread carefully when exploring these Wild Areas. We're going to assume that this will be similar to the areas in Final Fantasy XII where some enemies were stronger than the party but we can go back later to take them on. In the case of Sword and Shield, try to catch them properly this time.

While not looking like revolutionary installments in the series, Pokemon Sword and Shield do look like really good games in the series. Will things be fixed by Pokemon Gun, the installment that will spin-off from this? We'll have to wait and see. (Pokemon Gun is a joke so please don't look for it unless Game Freak actually announced the game).

Pokemon Sword and Shield are coming to Nintendo Switch on November 15.
