Pokemon Sword and Shield Fans Start #ThankYouGameFreak Hashtag to Spread Positivity For Once

Pokemon Sword and Shield have been placed under a lot of scrutinies lately, due to the whole National Pokedex issue and some massive leaks recently taking place. With rumors of morale at Game Freak at an all-time low after these leaks, not to mention the negative reception from fans, it seems like Sword and Shield will go down as one of the more controversial installments in the franchise.

Thankfully, some fans have decided to fight off all this negativity by starting a new hashtag that simply states #ThankYouGameFreak, which is really sweet. Fans have been sharing stories of how much they love Pokemon thanks to Game Freak and the hard work they put into all the games in this franchise.

Even if you aren't looking forward to Sword and Shield, which you are entitled to, we can all agree that some of the vitriol that has been spewed towards Game Freak has been a bit too much. It's one thing to not be excited about their game but if you're genuinely wishing for the developers to be miserable over two video games, then you clearly have problems.

In a bit of good news, the people at Game Freak have actually seen the aforementioned hashtag and even thanked the fans for it. Granted, some fans have decided to use the hashtag to continue being negative but they're just morons who want attention.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are coming to Nintendo Switch on November 15.
