Pokemon Journeys: The Series is Coming to Netflix This June

The latest Pokemon anime is finally coming stateside and will be heading straight to Netflix! In the good old US of A, the new Pokemon anime will now be called Pokemon Journeys: The Series and is currently scheduled for a June 12 release on Netflix. This is a first for the series since Pokemon would usually air somewhere like Disney XD first before coming to Netflix but it looks like the success of Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution on Netflix changed a lot of minds.

We also got our first trailer for the dubbed version of Pokemon Journeys, letting us hear what Go (Goh?) sounds like in English for the first time. Dubs for the most recent Pokemon anime have been fairly faithful to the Japanese scripts so this shouldn't be a problem with fans, though we do miss how some new jokes were added in the old days. Oh well, some things just can't be helped.

Pokemon Journeys has already garnered a number of fans, even though it hasn't hit stateside yet. The show has given Ash one of his best Pokemon teams in years, not only having Pikachu but also Dragonite, Mimey (his mom's Mr. Mime), and Gengar. Those four Pokemon are strong enough to take down the Pokemon League on a good day so it will be fun seeing how Ash loses again.

At least he won the Alolan Pokemon League. It continues to be one of the series' best moments and fans everywhere loved that he finally achieved his dream. Some felt that he should have won the league in X and Y but those requests fell on deaf ears.

Pokemon Journeys is officially coming to Netflix on June 12.
