Pokemon GO's Newest Feature is an Unofficial Sequel to Pokemon Snap

Gamers who grew up with a Nintendo 64 probably have fond memories of Pokemon Snap, one of the weirdest spin-off games in the series that has players take pictures of 60+ Pokemon. It might have an odd premise but this made for a fairly fun experience on the console and has made fans sad over the fact that a sequel to this game has yet to be made.

While not completely like Snap, a new mechanic introduced in Pokemon GO has fans nostalgic over the N64 title. Called GO Snapshot, this feature seems like an extension of the AR+ camera that lets players take pictures of any Pokemon they have caught. All players have to do is select a Pokemon from their bag, choose where your monster will be positioned and snap away.

Should the Pokemon get distracted, which is adorable, players can use the touchscreen to get its attention. Players will be able to move the phone around to get a great angle of the adorable monster they are taking a picture of. It might not be the same as Pokemon Snap but as a free update, it's pretty great and should get scratch that Snap itch for some.

This is a wonderful feature and should be available now, so if you're an avid fan of the game or are just starting out, you should use it while you can. Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android.
