Phoenix Resurrection Will Be Weekly, All Covers And Artists Revealed

Marvel has revealed more details for December's Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey during a press release. The five-issue mini-series will be a weekly title so the storyline is expected to start and end in the same month, though the final issue could come out in January. It was also revealed that artist Leinil Yu will only draw the first issue and provide covers for the rest of the series.

Artists Carlos Pacheco, Joe Bennett, Ramon Rosanas, and Khoi Pham will provide interiors for issues #2, #3, #4, and #5 respectively now that it's a weekly series. Marvel also revealed all of the covers drawn by Leinil Yu and they look great. These covers also show other characters aside from the main X-Men Gold team, including Cable, Sabretooth, All-New Wolverine, and Jubilee. In addition to these, Marvel also announced a 3D cover for issue #1.

Marvel also urged fans to pick up Jean Grey #11 when it comes out, which has been described as a "critical tie-in" to the series. Fans always wondered what role the young Jean Grey would play in the series and it looks like that issue answers the question. Interestingly enough it is also the finale of the Psych Wars storyline, so fans might want to read the entire storyline to fully understand the gist of it.

Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey is written by Matthew Rosenberg and has art by Leinil Yu, Carlos Pacheco, Joe Bennett, Ramon Rosanas, and Khoi Pham. The series comes out this December.
