Overwatch is Officially Coming to Nintendo Switch Next Month

After a number of leaks essentially confirmed it, Nintendo went ahead and announced that Overwatch would be coming to the Switch during the most recent Direct. The leaks have correctly pointed out how the game will be coming out next month, so it's safe to assume that Blizzard is a Switch believer. We're all curious about how this version of the game will play but considering how good Diablo 3 ended up being, this should be fine.

The Overwatch Nintendo Switch port is a big deal for a multitude of reasons, one of which being that this is easily Blizzard's most popular franchise in a long time. This is all thanks to a number of entertaining animated shorts and great character designs, though people like me wish that the game would feature some form of single-player but it's not meant to be.

On-the-go gaming is one reason why fans will be picking up this port, though it's worth noting that you'll need Nintendo Switch Online if you want to enjoy this game. That shouldn't be a problem for those that have the service already or others who are used to paying for console online play on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

It will be interesting to see if the port has any neat exclusives, like a Mario or Link costume. That probably seems doubtful but we wouldn't put it past Nintendo. As long as the online servers are good, fans will have no problems with this port.

Overwatch is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 15.
