One Punch Man Video Game Will Feature Character Creation and a City to Explore

It seemed like One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows would be a typical anime arena brawler, similar in vein to something like Jump Force or Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. The game, now scheduled for a 2020 release on PS4 and Xbox One, is actually a bit more ambitious than that. We just got a new trailer and it shows off a brand-new character creation mode, along with a city to explore.

This is all brand-new information, which was revealed from the trailer above. As can be seen, the player's created avatar tried to be a disciple of Saitama, who saves him from the anime's very first villain in the pilot episode. From there, we see some of the character customization options and how the battles in Story Mode differs from the regular 3-on-3 fights.

Right now, it's not yet known if players will be able to choose their powers or learn them from the game's other heroes ala Jump Force or Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Still, it's pretty ambitious of the One Punch Man video game to do this, being the first game of the franchise to hit current-gen consoles.

Seemingly taking place during the first season, the player's avatar will relive the events of the anime while also exploring the city and accepting new missions from various heroes. Some of the new battles have players waiting for other heroes like Hellish Blizzard and not just Saitama. Overall, the variety in this title should get anime fans interested since it looks better than we initially thought.
