Next Mainline Pokemon Game Delayed From Second-Half of 2019 to Late 2019

Those that are planning to skip Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee to wait for the main game are in for some bad news. Nintendo Switch fans already knew that the game would be coming out in the second half of 2019. However, that has now been delayed to late 2019, so the wait for the next mainline Pokemon RPG just got longer.

Confirmed by Serebii.net, the delay isn't the most disheartening since no release date was announced. It's similar to the Kingdom Hearts 3 debacle, which was originally slated for a 2018 release but was moved to January 25, 2019, for convenience and more time to make the game better. The mainline Pokemon game was already slated for 2019 so this isn't too bad.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were the last mainline games and were released for the 3DS. Essentially enhanced re-releases of Sun and Moon, these two were still excellent games and ended the series' 3DS run on a high note. The Let's Go games are essentially placeholders until the next mainline game, with features from Pokemon GO to make it more approachable to casual players.

Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee comes out on November 16 for the Nintendo Switch.
