New Venom Poster Has a Thing For Tongues

Tom Hardy has shared the latest poster for Venom and it puts one of the character's most distinguishing features front and center; his tongue. As gross as it is, the tongue helped make this character even more memorable and has been a defining part of the anti-hero ever since, so it's easy to see why it would be in the latest poster.

We've seen the tongue appear in some of the trailers, though it hasn't done anything too gross yet. Considering how long it looks in this poster, we might be seeing it in action during the film, which could be a lot of fun.

Spider-Man has grabbed his tongue and punched his face numerous times, so we might see that recreated here but with the film's villains. Only time will tell of course but seeing the tongue get most of the spotlight in this poster is pretty odd, despite how important it is to the character.

Venom has shown promise, though some fans are also worried about the movie thanks to the infamous "turd in the wind" line. Seriously, how that line was approved for the trailer is mind-boggling. In terms of visuals and tone, the film does feel like a proper Venom 90's comic book, for better or worse.

Fans will be able to catch Venom in theaters on October 5.
