New Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Photos Reveal Rey's Repaired Lightsaber

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is going to start out a bit differently than the previous films in this trilogy since there will actually be a time jump. The Last Jedi starts moments after The Force Awakens ended so this is going to be interesting, to say the least. One question that may not be answered revolves around Rey's lightsaber, which she inherited from her mentor Luke Skywalker.

Well, thanks to some new photos from the Pinewood Presentation, we have some new photos of Rey's repaired lightsaber. Granted, most of us knew that Rey would have it repaired since the very first trailer for this movie showed it off. What we're all curious about is if they'll actually show this in action or if the scene will just be skipped entirely.

Considering the time jump, they are under no obligation to show the scene. They could mention it in passing and most fans would be pleased with that, though it would be fun to see the process of lightsaber repair. Still, it could take need less screen time and this movie doesn't need that since it has to introduce new characters and end the trilogy on a high note.

So if we don't see lightsaber repair but get more character development and story progression? I'll be absolutely fine with that. This is what deleted scenes in Blu-rays are made for.

Fans will be able to catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters on December 20.
