New Pokemon and Gym Leaders Revealed in Latest Sword & Shield Trailer

Coming in like an RKO, Game Freak and The Pokemon Company have released a brand-new trailer for Pokemon Sword & Shield out of nowhere. This isn't just a trailer that gets us familiar with what was already announced; the video actually has a bunch of new Pokemon in it! We also get new gym leaders and an interesting peek at the Gigantamax feature, which actually changes some Pokemon.

First, let's talk about the four new Pokemon introduced; Alcremie, Yamper, Rolycoly, and Duraludon. Fans are already familiar with Yamper thanks to the E3 demo but it's still nice seeing the thunder-type Corgi in action. Alcremie is another Pokemon that will be added to the "Game Freak were hungry when making Pokemon" list, while Rolycoly and Duraludon just look great.

Now we have Chairman Rose and his secretary Oleana. As his name implies, Rose is the chairman of the Galar Pokemon league and is responsible for bringing Dynamaxing to the Pokemon battling table. Oleana isn't just his secretary but is also the vice president of the man's company.

Then we have the new gym leaders Allister and Bea. Allister uses Ghost-type Pokemon while Bea uses Fighting-types. So far, so Pokemon. However, in an interesting twist, Bea will be an exclusive gym leader to Pokemon Sword and Allister will only be fought in Pokemon Shield. That's crazy.

Pokemon Sword & Shield will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on November 15.
