New Pokemon Mobile Game in the Works? Job Listing Suggests So

Pokemon GO might not be as big as it once was but there's no denying that the game is still a big deal in the mobile market, making a ton of money for Niantic to this day. Since then, there have been a number of Pokemon mobile games since, including Pokemon Shuffle and it looks like that won't be stopping, as a job listing has hinted at yet another mobile game based on the popular franchise.

The job listing was seen on LinkedIn, with The Pokemon Company hiring a Principal Game Designer for, what appears to be a mobile game that will be using the Unity engine. This hasn't been used in any of the current Pokemon games, aside from the tablet-only Pokemon Trading Card Game. Some are speculating that this will be moved to phones soon and this listing could be for a Pokemon TCG port, given the success of titles like Hearthstone.

Considering the success of Pokemon GO, which just added Trainer Battles and continues to be updated to this day, more mobile games based on the franchise shouldn't be too surprising. Here is hoping that we eventually get ports of games from the Gameboy and Gameboy Advance. Who wouldn't want to play Pokemon FireRed or LeafGreen on their phones?

While a new mobile game is probably on the horizon, fans still have a lot of Pokemon games to get through. Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee are currently on the Nintendo Switch, while Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are still available for those who still have a 3DS or New 3DS.

Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android.
