New Birds of Prey Poster Showcases Harley Quinn's Friends and a Hyena

Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is looking to be one of the more interesting comic book movies coming out next year, giving us an interesting direction for the popular anti-heroine. As we wait for more trailers to give us additional insight into this movie and its characters, there was a new Birds of Prey poster that showcases our core cast and a hyena.

It's basically everything that a Harley Quinn fan would want.

What fans really want to see are better looks at Huntress and Black Canary, which this poster does provide. Granted, fans might be upset over them not looking like their comic counterparts but at least they look decent enough. This isn't Batman and Robin, where the costume designers overdid the comic book influence, though more familiar colors would probably help.

Renee Montoya and Cassandra Kain are also shown but, let's face it, they are the least interesting characters in this movie unless a new trailer can convince us otherwise. Fans do like these characters in the comics but since development will likely focus on Harley, maybe with some additional screen time for Black Canary and Huntress, we aren't really focused on these other characters.

Change our minds Warner Bros.

Still, this is an interesting direction for the DCEU, one that looks different from Shazam and Aquaman, which arguably tries to be too much like a Marvel movie. We know that people like these two films more than some Marvel movies but that's in the minority.

Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) comes out on February 5, 2020.
