Netflix's The Witcher Releases Character Posters for Ciri and Yennefer

Netflix's The Witcher has the balls to release on the same date as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which isn't as big as you think since there are people who don't enjoy the big franchise. Anyway, the show is looking really promising thanks to the few trailers we've seen thus far, along with some of the official images, which got fans of The Witcher video games excited.

Well, we now have some official character posters for Ciri and Yennefer, which is very good news. While the two were introduced later on in the books, both Ciri and Yennefer were fairly important in The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3 so it makes sense to bring them to the show early.

They might not have been people's first choices but Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan actually look pretty good as Yennefer and Ciri respectively. It's not yet known how integrated into these episodes the two characters will be, though Ciri has always been a huge part of the story, at least in the most recent Witcher games.

Here's hoping that the series does these characters justice and is a solid show in its own right. Video game adaptations have received a shot of life ever since Netflix released Castlevania so here's hoping that The Witcher is just as good, if not better.

Fans will be able to catch The Witcher on December 20.
