Netflix Series Jupiter's Legacy Loses Daredevil Showrunner

It looks like Netflix's Jupiter's Legacy is in some trouble as they lost showrunner Steven DeKnight. This is reportedly due to "creative differences," which can be worrisome since there are a lot of projects that never get off the ground because of this. Does anyone remember Fox's Gambit movie? That was plagued with creative differences and we're never going to see it now.

Back to the subject. According to Deadline, DeKnight left after four episodes were completed, so it looks like his influence will be seen early on. There is now an ongoing search for who will replace DeKnight, which will probably be frustrating since the new showrunner might want to change what's been done in the first four episodes. It's also worth noting that DeKnight wrote and directed the pilot episode.

The series is based on the graphic novel of the same name from Mark Millar and Frank Quietly as part of the streaming service's deal made when Millarworld was purchased. Netflix is also working on a movie based on Reborn and they're hoping to get Sandra Bullock for the role, though no progress has been made yet.

Honestly, this is pretty concerning and we can only hope that they power through. Finding another showrunner should be a top priority for them and they will hopefully agree more on what the show should be like. At the least, they should come to a compromise that makes everyone happy.

Jupiter's Legacy is currently scheduled for a 2020 release.
