Netflix Confirms Their Viewership is Up Due to COVID-19

COVID-19 has forced a lot of people to stay at home so that it doesn't spread and affect the public at large. Sadly, there are a lot of people who are still partying and going out of their houses, even though the safest option is to stay at home and watch some Netflix. Thankfully, a lot of sensible people are doing that and it has, unsurprisingly, increased viewership on the platform.

Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos confirmed that the streaming platform is doing quite well, even though the company itself has had to halt production on several of their shows and movies. Everything from The Witcher to Stranger Things has had to halt production to make sure people are safe and quarantined, at least until this whole Coronavirus thing blows over.

At the least, we all have a lot of time to check out our favorite shows and movies on our favorite streaming services, Netflix included. The company is quite proud knowing that they are doing an important service to the people who are at home so they don't feel hopeless. It shows just how vital entertainment can be to our lives and we can't help but feel grateful.

"We're proud to be part of that. Which is trying to make that stay-home experience a little more bearable for folks, a little more enjoyable, even, and give some families something to gather around, something for people to talk about, making us feel a little less isolated while we are being physically isolated."

Granted, we're more grateful to those who still work in supermarkets, delivery services, and restaurants. They're the real heroes here. Even with all of that, it's good to have reliable entertainment at home so we don't lose our minds.

Subscribe to Netflix now. You can do it on your phone or computer and it's pretty easy.
