Miles Morales Encounters a New Spider-Hero in This Week's Spider-Verse #1

Marvel enters the Spider-Verse once again with, what else? Spider-Verse #1 coming out later this week. Essentially a sequel to Dan Slott's Spider-Verse and Christos Gage's Spider-Geddon, the third series in this, erm, trilogy will revolve around Miles Morales as he fights whatever forces are messing with the multiverse. However, it looks like Marvel Comics is hoping the first issue is a bestseller since a preview for the series is teasing a new Spider-Hero called Spider-Zero.

Unfortunately, this teaser does not show us who this Spider-Zero is but it's something fans can look forward to when Spider-Verse #1 comes out on Wednesday. Considering how this character can pull Miles Morales from our universe and drag him across the multiverse, he has to be a big deal.

Previews for future issues have confirmed appearances from Peni Parker and Spider-Ma'am, the latter of whom is taking care of the baby versions of Morlun and his family. You can bet that they could play a big role in this, though we'll have to wait and see. Here's hoping that this new series lives up to the reputation of previous installments as well as the movie.

If you need any reason to get Spider-Verse #1, it's worth noting that Wendell Dalit, who worked on some concept art for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, is providing the cover for the first issue. That's enough reason for me to be honest.
