Matthew Vaughn has become one of Hollywood’s best action directors in recent years, thanks to his work on Kick-Ass, Kingsman, and X-Men: First Class. That one Marvel film aside, Vaughn has fully embraced the properties based on Mark Millar’s comic books and has revealed future plans for these possible franchises.

The first that may or may not surprise anyone is a Kick-Ass reboot. Speaking with Empire Online, Vaughn didn’t give too many details about this but did say that it would feature a new character and fans should read Millar’s current run of the series for clues.

This could mean that Patience Lee, the current person using the Kick-Ass moniker, will be the lead, though Vaughn didn’t spoil the surprise. Mark Millar stated before that he would love to see Thor: Ragnarok star Tessa Thompson in the role.

Vaughn also has huge plans for the beloved Kingsman series. The director confirmed that there would be one more film focusing on the Harry Hart-Eggsy relationship, whilst also revealing a prequel film set in the 1900’s called Kingsman: The Great Game. Channing Tatum and Halle Berry are also set to star in a Statesman film, the American spin-off.

What will surprise many is the fact that Vaughn is also working on a Kingsman television show. Nothing about the show was revealed, though it will supposedly be eight hours. That could mean eight or sixteen episodes but that’s all speculation right now.

Can Marvel and other film studios handle the rising possibility of Kingsman and Kick-Ass becoming franchises?
