Matt Reeves' The Batman Will Use Scotland for Gotham City

Matt Reeves' The Batman will be coming out next year so fans are expecting to see a trailer and maybe some images later this year to get them excited. Interestingly enough, the setting for this version of Gotham City is going to be something fans aren't expecting since Daily Record has confirmed that Reeves' film is going to take place in Glasgow, Scotland.

While most fans would base Gotham on New York City, Scotland does have a lot of interesting architecture and could make for some fun scenes. We're sure Reeves has some plans for this version of Gotham City and seeing Robert Pattinson as Batman gliding around here should be a lot of fun if executed correctly.

Admittedly, most of us are aware that this version of Gotham City will mostly be seen through a green screen and other visual effects but it could still be interesting. Gotham is often considered to be a character unto itself since it basically turned Batman and his villains into what they are today, for better and worse. Bruce Wayne once said Gotham was transformative and here's hoping we see that in the new movie.

The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Farrel as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Paul Dano as Edward Nigma/The Riddler, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. The movie is scheduled for a June 25, 2021 release.
