Marvel's Zoe Saldana Was Almost Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel

We're officially in the post-Zack Snyder era of the DCEU (if it's still called that) and fans are saying that things are going to be better now. While we still have to wait for future films to prove these fans right, both Aquaman and Shazam were fun times in the cinema so it's easy to see why people are thinking like this. Still, there are fans of the Zack Snyder era and many of them feel like Man of Steel and Wonder Woman are the best movies of that period.

Turns out that Man of Steel almost had a completely different Lois Lane. While the actual film had a less-than-enthusiastic Amy Adams, we almost had a less-than-enthusiastic Zoe Saldana. That's right, Gamora was almost Lois Lane and I think we're all grateful for that not happening.

Snyder himself revealed that Saldana was almost chosen during an interview with Comic Book Debate. At the time, she hadn't signed with Marvel yet and had just come off the second film in the Star Trek reboot, Star Trek: Into Darkness, so she was considered kind of a big deal. Still, I think we all enjoy her as Gamora so that was the wise choice for her to make.

Man of Steel is now available on Blu-Ray and digital services. Saldana can be seen in Avengers: Endgame, which might still be showing in theaters.
