Marvel's Darth Vader Comic Reunites Anakin and Padme in the Worst Way Possible

Marvel's Star Wars comics have been fairly interesting, to say the least, not only bridging certain elements from the novels and movies but also answering questions many were afraid to ask. All of these statements are more than true with Charles Soule's Darth Vader series, which not only revealed who Darth Vader's father is but also gave the Sith Lord and his fans a reunion that we were hoping for.

And they did it in the most horrifying way possible.

In Darth Vader #25, the future Sith Lord is still trying to bring back his wife Padme Amidala, who died in Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith after giving birth. This issue has the younger Vader finally succeed as he gets to interact with Padme's ghost and begs him to join him in life. However, the ghost refuses and jumps off the balcony they were talking in, claiming "Anakin Skywalker is dead."

How could that get worse? We see the ghost falling off the balcony and choking herself, reminding fans of that moment in Revenge of the Sith when Anakin thought Padme had sided with Obi-Wan. This resulted in Anakin giving Padme the Force Choke, which "broke her heart" and may have resulted in the queen's death during labor.

This issue seems to be the catalyst in fully turning Anakin to the Dark Side and making him embrace his inner evil. Many see Padme "killing herself" as a sign of the character no longer wanting to be the reason Anakin becomes a Sith Lord. In the end, Vader is still a selfish and greedy individual who wants power so that no one opposes him.

Darth Vader #25 is available now.
