Marvel Reunites the Original X-Men in House of X, But With a Twist

All-New X-Men was a good comic that overstayed its welcome and the fact that the original five didn't return to their timeline right after the Brian Michael Bendis series was annoying, despite some well-done issues here and there. Fans might get annoyed knowing that Jonathan Hickman will be reuniting the original five X-Men for House of X but here's a twist; each character comes from a different era.

Cyclops is in his red costume with X eyes from Bendis' Uncanny X-Men series, which garnered a mixed reception when it came out but looked cool when the lasers were coming out. Jean Grey is in her Jim Lee costume, which a lot of fans will remember from the ‘90s X-Men animated series. Beast is in his feline form from Grant Morrison's acclaimed New X-Men series. Iceman and Angel have pretty standard looks, though they could be from that odd Champions comic where they teamed up with Hercules, Ghost Rider, and Black Widow.

It'll be interesting to see how Hickman reunites these characters, especially since fans are a bit tired of the original five taking up so much page space. At the least, they're all from different eras and aren't just the original five who stayed in the mainstream universe for way too long.

House of X and Powers of X will be coming to comic book stores this July.
