Marvel Launches Countdown for Spider-Man: Far From Home

Spider-Man: Far From Home is one of the three major releases coming from Marvel Studios next year and fans are psyched out about it. There might be more hype for March's Captain Marvel and May's Avengers 4 but Spider-Man is still one of Marvel's most popular heroes so expect something big from the sequel of Homecoming. Marvel themselves are pretty hyped up about it as the company released a countdown towards its release.

We're still 200-plus days from the movie coming out but it is interesting seeing Marvel start up a countdown so early. This could mean that a trailer or two isn't far behind but that won't come before an Avengers 4 trailer, that's for sure. Since most of the cast and production crew are returning to the sequel, everyone has high hopes for it.

Though many of us are expecting to see Michael Keaton return as The Vulture, it seems like Mysterio will be the main villain for the sequel. Reportedly played by Jake Gyllenhaal, this will be the first live-action iteration of the Spider-Man villain so his inclusion should be a fun one. We were also promised Scorpion at the end of Homecoming but we'll probably have to wait for that one.

Aside from Peter Parker's return, seemingly feeling better from his death in Infinity War, we don't know much about Spider-Man: Far From Home, aside from the fact that he will be, well, far from home. This will be set after Avengers 4 so the fallout from that movie will have to be felt here in some capacity.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is slated for a July 5, 2019, release.
