Marvel 2099 Returns as a Comic Book Event This November

Back in the ‘90s, the Marvel2099 line of comic books were pretty popular, offering radical looks at characters we knew and loved. Well, if we're being completely honest, the biggest comic from that line was Spider-Man 2099 and it was really good, at least when Peter David was writing it. Miguel O'Hara, a.k.a. Spider-Man of 2099, has recently returned to the main timeline of Earth 616 and he'll be the center of a huge Marvel 2099 event.

Revealed in Marvel's November 2019 solicitations, the 2099 event starts with Amazing Spider-Man #33 and continues through 2099 Alpha #1 and Amazing Spider-Man #34 before concluding in December with Amazing Spider-Man #35 and 2099 Omega #1. There are also a number of tie-in one-shots, featuring previously established 2099 characters and some new ones like Conan 2099.

As someone who has always loved Miguel O'Hara, it's pretty cool seeing an event based on him. It seems likely that the character will be getting a new series soon after, though it's too early to say anything right now. Then again, with O'Hara expected to play a big role in the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, an ongoing title is inevitable.

Marvel's 2099 event starts this November.
