Maisie Williams Opens Up About THAT Game of Thrones Scene

The second Game of Thrones episode has come and gone but fans are talking about it for a number of reasons, one of which was a "controversial" scene. Fans ended up freaking out over Arya Stark and Gendry doing the dirty, which is odd since the series almost-always had sex scenes, though it might be due to the fact that fans are still grasping over the fact that Arya is an adult now.

Fans, you know who you are, ended up Googling Maisie William's age, with many breathing a sigh of relief when it was revealed that she was 22. Those that looked up her age were happy to know that they were not a "witness" to some sort of crime, even though Williams has been an adult for quite some time now.

Williams ended up talking about this controversial scene on Entertainment Weekly, thinking that it was a prank at first. Apparently, the showrunners had sent the cast bogus scripts before, including a fake scene where Jon Snow has his face disfigured. However, this scene ended up being legitimate, which surprised Williams to a certain degree.

Funnily enough, it was co-star and X-Men: Dark Phoenix lead star Sophie Turner who told Williams about the scene.

"Sophie said, ‘Whatever you do, you have to skip to this episode, this scene first.' So I just read that and it was practically all I knew about the entire season.At first, I thought it was a prank.Yo, good one.' And [the showrunners were] like, ‘No, we haven't done that this year.' Oh f—k!"

After this, Williams joked about going to the gym and revealed that everyone was respectful about the scene, even if their responses did make things more awkward. Gendry actor Joe Dempsie thought that the scene was a strange experience at first since he's known Williams since she was 12 but he didn't want to belittle her either, so he ended up going through with the scene.

Game of Thrones is currently in its final season and airs on HBO. It also streams on HBO GO.
