Legion Showrunner Says Marvel Studios is 'Done' With His Doctor Doom Movie

Noah Hawley has impressed fans with his FX show Legion, based on the infamous X-Men character, so everyone was pumped when it was announced that Hawley was working on a Doctor Doom movie. When Disney bought Fox, fans got a bit more excited since that opened up possibilities of Victor Von Doom appearing in the MCU, something fans have been wanting for the longest time.

Well, it looks like those fans are about to be really disappointed. Speaking with Deadline, Hawley has stated that his Doctor Doom movie is "done" with Marvel Studios. Hawley had previously stated that he was interested in making the film a part of the MCU but it looks like this won't be happening, at least with him involved.

"I mean, where it stands is now that the movie is done and Legion is done and I've taken a little time off because someone told me there was this word 'vacation,' which means you don't work, which sounded really interesting to me."

Despite all that, Hawley is still interested in making the character's movie. Hawley is hoping that Marvel Studios is open to his vision for the character but it looks like that will take a lot of hard convincing. Hopefully, he gets the job done since he is too talented to not get a shot at the MCU and its Fantastic Four-related future.

"But you know, I need to circle back to them and announce that I would love to make it and figure out if that's something that is possible. Whether or not they already have a plan in place for what to do with those characters or whether they're open to my kind of vision for what to do with those characters. But it's sort of on me right now to go push them, which I will do as soon as I come up for air."

As of this writing, it seems like Doctor Doom has been scrapped, at least for now. Black Widow is the next MCU movie coming out, currently scheduled for May 1, 2020.
