Legend of Zelda Producer Teases Skyward Sword for Nintendo Switch

The Legend of Zelda has always been considered a legendary gaming series, with only a few flawed games dragging its legacy down. One game that has gotten a mixed response is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, a title that heavily relied on motion controls since it was exclusive to the Wii. This game's legacy might always be connected to the Wii but it looks like it might get a second chance at life soon.

During a Legend of Zelda concert in Osaka Japan (via Destructoid), Japan, big boss producer Eiji Aonuma went onstage and said the most peculiar thing; "We know what you are thinking, Skyward Sword on Switch, right?" Apparently, this got a very big reaction but nothing else was said about this possible port.

Currently, the only way to play Skyward Sword is to have a Wii or Wii U, since the latter console is backward-compatible with Wii games. Now that the console has been replaced by the Switch, this could be the main way people play this underrated title. The Switch does offer motion controls after all, though it would be nice to have standard controls as well.

As of this writing, the only Zelda games in this console are Breath of the Wild and Hyrule Warriors, the latter of which is a spinoff. Adding Skyward Sword to the mix would be great. Hopefully, they also add the HD remasters of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, maybe even the 3DS ports of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
