Laurence Fox Calls Harry Potter Stars 'Spoiled Millionaires' for Supporting Trans Rights

Fans have been pretty depressed as J.K. Rowling revealed herself to be unsympathetic to the plight of trans people, which hurt a lot of those who grew up with her Harry Potter books and related to its damaged characters. They did take some comfort into seeing stars like Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Eddie Redmayne disagree with Rowling, while also standing up for trans rights, showing that these actors who portrayed her characters are pretty good people.

Well, UK actor Laurence Fox is not one of those people who admire these young actors since he called them "three spoiled actors who turned on their creator," which is pretty damning. Fox wrote an op-ed for The Spectator, who feels that they only did this so that their futures would be secure, rather than because they have some empathy towards trans people, who receive a lot of abuse on a daily basis.

"Surely these rich list regulars are perfectly placed to say what they actually think, protected from the ever-tightening vice of censorship?. Apparently not. Fearing for their virtue or their future or both, the three children rounded on their mother. We must hope for better from Neville Longbottom."

Honestly, Fox is entitled to his opinion but it is a shame to see people turn on these actors. Standing up for trans rights is something that should be seen as honorable and we're sure that Harry Potter fans will have the backs of Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint. Let's hope that this is the last we hear of people who don't have empathy for the trans community.
