Latest Pokemon Let's Go! Trailer Showcases Mega Evolutions, Team Rocket, and More

The latest Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee trailer is here, confirming one popular rumor and introducing us to some familiar characters in HD for the first time. It seems like the more we see of the game the better it looks, though that could be the nostalgia goggles enjoying these locales and characters in HD.

Let's start with the big confirmation; Mega Evolutions. First introduced in Pokemon X and Y, this is basically a feature borrowed from the Digimon franchise since it gives the player's monster a once-per-battle evolution that gives their pocket critter a huge advantage.

In the trailer, we only see four Mega Evolutions, two of which belong to one monster. They are Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Charizard X, and Mega Blastoise. Unfortunately, the trailer doesn't say which version will have the Y and X versions of Mega Charizard so we'll have to wait for an update from Game Freak.

Fans of the anime or Pokemon Yellow will also be very happy to see Jesse and James in the trailer. They look pretty accurate to their anime counterparts and even have Ekans and Koffing as their partners, though Meowth is nowhere to be seen.

Vermillion City is also seen in HD for the first time, with both Lt. Surge and the S.S. Anne getting some screen time. The S.S. Anne was one of the more memorable moments in the game since it allowed players to battle a number of trainers in this cave. Surge will also have Raichu, which might bring back bad memories of the anime since this Pokemon beat up Pikachu badly.

Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee comes out on November 16.
