Joe Manganiello on How to Make a Good Dungeons and Dragons Movie

We're supposedly getting a Dungeons and Dragons movie soon but fans are worried about what they might see, especially after the last DnD film that came out. While the original film is considered by many to be so bad it's good, that's obviously not what the producers want and fans have been brainstorming on what the movie should be like.

Joe Manganiello, who was supposed to play Deathstroke in the DCEU, is a big Dungeons and Dragons fans, appearing in Critical Role and Force Grey with his character Arkhan the Cruel. In an interview with ComicBook.com, Manganiello was asked about the upcoming movie and what it would take to get a good film out of a franchise that relies on a player's imagination to be good.

"All you have to do for the diehards is make something cool. Make something that they're proud to say 'that's what I do. That's the thing I've been playing since I was a kid. That's all you have to do, and the rest of it is like just make a movie that my wife wants to go see."

Making a cool fantasy movie would definitely be a good thing, it's just that this might not please fans who like to wildly change their setting. Then again, if they can use the tabletop game's acclaimed characters well, that would get a lot of hardcore DnD fans into a movie.

No release date for the Dungeons and Dragons film has been revealed.
