Jason Momoa Says He Can't Shoot Aquaman 2 Due to Being 'Run Over By A Bulldozer'

It looks like Aquaman 2 is going to be put on hold, at least if lead star Jason Momoa has his way. The Hawaiian celebrity has always been passionate about his roots and that's all coming to a close now that some major construction is doing damage to his native homeland. While there's a good chance that contractual obligations will make him shoot the anticipated DC sequel, it seems like the actor's true convictions have been shown.

In an Instagram post made for Momoa, it was mentioned that the actor won't be able to shoot Aquaman 2 because he "got run over by a bulldozer" for trying to stop it in the desecration of Momoa's homeland. Considering how much money the first Aquaman made, the fact that he's setting that aside, getting himself in harm's way just to put off a construction show Momoa's love for the island. No further reports shared yet regarding the injuries he might have gotten from the incident.

For those unaware, a Thirty Meter Telescope on Mauna Kea, which is still a part of Hawaii. This is apparently sacred ground for the people of Hawaii, with many people hoping that they move the construction and build it somewhere else. The damage it's doing to Mauna Kea is pretty bad, as are all major constructions, and it seems like a steep price to pay for the name of science.

Aquaman 2 currently has no release date and it might not have one anytime soon if Momoa continues to fight this. Still, we wish him all the luck in the world and hope he gets to protect his homeland from this. Aquaman is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD.
