J.J. Abrams' and His Son's Spider-Man Comic Gets Epic Trailer

J.J. and Henry Abrams' Spider-Man mini-series, simply called Spider-Man, has garnered a bit of a mixed reaction since its announcement. Things didn't start off well when Marvel released a webbed number 4, with fans thinking that it would be a Spider-Man 4 comic. However, the webbed number was actually an indication of a countdown for this comic from the Abrams' family duo, which has also been seen as controversial.

Well, we have a new trailer for the five-issue mini-series, and we can see the duo try to sell this comic to fans. In fairness, the Abrams duo and editor Nick Lowe rightfully credit artist Sara Pichelli, who is a phenomenal artist. She has drawn a number of Spider-Man comic books in the past, mostly Miles Morales stories, and the facial expressions she draws are unparalleled.

Lowe also tries to hype up the new villain Cadaverous and, well, he sure tries. The editor claims that this baddie is one of Spidey's creepies villains ever, which is saying a lot since Spider-Man has taken on Green Goblin, Man-Thing (who isn't really a villain), Juggernaut, and Morlun. We might be giving this comic a lot of grief but we're willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Personally, I'll be picking up the series for Sara Pichelli's art. I've been a fan of hers since Ultimate Spider-Man so the book won't be disappointing when it comes to art. Here is hoping that the writing quality is up to par and Henry Abrams ends up being an awesome comic book writer (hopefully).

Spider-Man #1 (of 5) comes out on September 18.
