Iron Man 3 Writer Theorizes Mutants Appearing in WandaVision Series

WandaVision is a show that a lot of Marvel fans are looking forward to since it will help set up Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, the series is looking to be one of the odder shows coming to Disney+ and could introduce more Marvel characters since the adult version of Monica Rambeau was confirmed for the series.

During an interview about Hobbes and Shaw with Collider, Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce made a bold theory: Mutants could be making their debut in this series. Pearce said "I would definitely not be surprised if WandaVision is the way they start to bring in, for example, mutants," which is something fans would be more than down for. It would also be ironic since Wanda caused a lot of mutants to disappear in House of M, claiming "No More Mutants."

If Marvel were to introduce Mutants, it would be fitting to have WandaVision be the show that does that since Scarlet Witch was originally a mutant. Marvel Comics actually retconned that decision during AXIS, which was very controversial and is a move that many fans hate to this day. Still, if Marvel wants to make amends, introducing Mutants in this show would be great.

Honestly, it's hard to guess anything about the show since there's nothing to go by. It will be interesting to see how Wanda brings back Vision, especially with no Tony Stark or Ultron to bring him back. Maybe this is where her hex magic comes in?

WandaVision is currently scheduled for a Spring 2021 release on the Disney+ streaming service.
