Ian McDiarmid Joins Star Wars Celebration Chicago, Emperor Palpatine Return Confirmed?

It's been a good number of years since Darth Vader finally turned on Emperor Palpatine and helped his son, officially turning away from the darkness before he died in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Fans also saw just how Palpatine rose to power via the prequel trilogy, which may have gotten mixed reviews, but did its job when it came to setting up the events of the classic trilogy. All this Palpatine talk probably has fans getting nostalgic so it's good to know that his actor will be in this Spring's Star Wars Celebration Chicago.

StarWars.com has confirmed that Ian McDiarmid will be a part of this big event, along with a number of other actors who have worked on this massive franchise. This has got fans talking about a possible return for the Sith Lord, though that will be controversial. Then again, the Force and Sith work in the weirdest ways, so anything can happen.

Brian Herring and Mark Dodson have also been confirmed for Star Wars Celebration Chicago. Herring was one half of the puppeteering team for popular droid BB-8, while Dodson has been providing voices for a number of stormtroopers and other alien creatures for the series, including Jabba the Hutt's court jester Salacious B. Crumb.

Honestly, this seems like a great event for fans, and we're all hoping that this will reveal the title of Star Wars: Episode IX, which will be the finale of this trilogy starring Rey and Kylo Ren.

Star Wars Celebration Chicago will take place April 11-15 at McCormick Place.
