Henry Cavill was Able to Choose Which Horse Would be Roach for Netflix's The Witcher

Netflix's The Witcher could be one of the biggest shows in the already-popular streaming service, with a lot of us excited to see how the show turns out. Henry Cavill has been cast as Geralt and he seems to be having a good time with the series so here's hoping he stays on if it ends up becoming a success. We already know that The Witcher Season 2 will be coming after the first but one thing we didn't know is that Roach, Geralt's horse, was chosen by Cavill himself.

During the show's trailer breakdown, The Witcher showrunner Lauren Hissricj revealed that they let Cavill choose the horse who would eventually be Roach since he will need to bond with him as Geralt did. In both the books and video games, Roach is one of Geralt's most-trusted allies since most people in this universe don't like or trust Witchers.

This was a pretty good move on the part of Netflix since Cavill will have to ride around the horse a lot so it would make sense to have him choose which horse that will be his companion. While we imagine Roach won't be used too much as to please PETA and all animal rights activists, his presence in the show should be important to Geralt's development as a character.

Fans will finally be able to check out Netflix's The Witcher on December 20.
