Henry Cavill Discovered The Witcher Games Before Getting Cast as Geralt

Netflix's The Witcher series is looking to be one of the better video game adaptations, judging from the teaser trailers and photos released thus far. Henry Cavill, the actor known for playing Superman in the DCEU, will be portraying Geralt of Rivia in this live-action series and fans are curious about his performance. If it means anything, the actor has supposedly been immersed in this franchise's universe and claims to have done so before getting cast in the series.

During an interview that was translated by Reddit, Cavill has expressed his love for the series, which is really nice. The Man of Steel actor claims that he discovered the video games first and then started reading the books these titles were based on. Cavill seems to be genuine about his excitement for this series and we're hoping it results in an excellent performance.

"I discovered the games, then I discovered the books, and the universe of The Witcher instantly meant something to me. I often thought about playing Geralt. When the opportunity appeared, I didn't let the chance pass me. I asked my agent to make me meet Lauren as soon as possible."

As we wait for Netflix's The Witcher to debut, one can't help but be excited by all the hype. We're all still waiting for a full-length trailer, which seems to be coming out soon. Whether the series actually makes its Fall release or not is still a big mystery.

The Witcher will supposedly debut on Netflix this Fall. Fans will be able to purchase The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch on October 15.
