Goku Won't Be the Only Playable Character in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot had a lot of fans worried when it seemed like Goku would be the only playable character. Yeah, Goku is a great character and is really likable when he isn't being a terrible father or overpowered but Dragon Ball Z is home to a lot of other interesting fighters as well. Thankfully, the latest issue of V-Jump has revealed three more playable characters aside from Goku.

According to V-Jump (via Gematsu and Ryokutya2089), Goku will be joined by his son Gohan, former rival Piccolo, and eternal rival Vegeta. These choices make a ton of sense since there are times in Z when it feels like Gohan is the actual lead character, while Piccolo and Vegeta take part in a number of epic battles while also being fleshed out. Vegeta will become playable during Planet Namek, implying that Gohan and Piccolo can be used early on.

Knowing that there will be four playable characters is great and should make fans less worrisome about the final product. The only thing we're waiting for now is confirmation that the game will go passed Frieza since fans are worried that the final fight with him is the game's end (which is dumb since they spoiled that in trailers).

The Cell Saga and Buu Saga are big parts of Z and we're all hoping they are playable in the game. Hoping for Super content would be a bit much, though it's worth noting that Battle of Gods and Resurrection F are technically Z movies…

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is scheduled for release in early 2020 for PS4 and Xbox One.
