Gameplay Details for Square Enix's Marvel's The Avengers Have Been Revealed

Formerly known as The Avengers Project, Marvel's The Avengers will be officially revealed in this year's E3, which is in a few weeks. The game was announced several years ago with no details announced so it will be nice to see what Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have planned for Earth's mightiest heroes.

Turns out that we might just know, as a now-deleted blurb from the initial announcement has revealed some gameplay details that may have confirmed some rumors about the game. Revealed by ComicBook.com, the former description for this highly-anticipated comic book game reads as such:

"This is the defining Avengers gaming experience. An epic action-adventure that combines cinematic storytelling with continuous single-player and co-operative gameplay."

Combining single-player with co-operative gameplay has fans thinking that this game will be similar to titles like Destiny, The Division, or even Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. That seems to be the way to go for most games these days but it might be disconcerting to those hoping for a streamlined single-player game.

It will be interesting to see how Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics uses this style of gameplay and make it work with Marvel's giant cash-cow. We'll have to wait and see but expectations are pretty high after Marvel's Spider-Man blew everyone away.

Marvel's The Avengers will be revealed on June 11.
